Death Cake Games is UFO Panicking!
People who've known me before the first TOJam back in May 2006 know that I created a game there called Alien Abduction. You'd go around, abducting aliens and blowing up their defensive goats-on-poles (don't ask). After a few minutes, if you weren't blown up first, the game would end with a count of how many aliens you had picked up.
Well, for the first project of Death Cake Games (the successor to Meldstar Entertainment) is a remake of this game using the XNA Framework and titled UFO Panic! (Yes, with the exclaimation mark.) I've been working on and off on an XNA version of the game for a while, but for the past two weeks I've actually been pretty steady with it when I haven't been adding features or fixing regressions with Alarm Clock.
There's nothing up at the Death Cake site yet (because I've been too busy actually writing software to manage the site) but eventually I'm going to get something up on there. I also need to find a pixel artist or two to do graphics – not knocking the graphics that were provided at TOJam or the people who made them, but I want UFO Panic! to be a fresh restart on the concept.
I'll be occasionally blogging on Death Cake and its projects here, but when the site "goes live" (so to speak) pretty much everything will be kept over there. Unfortunately right now there aren't any downloads available for the old game, but I'll put up the final version of it up here tomorrow.
