Busy week ahead...
I've got my work cut out for me. Next week at Toast IT Toastmasters we're holding an open house meeting, and as the club's current VP Education, I'm going to be giving a speech about The Toastmasters Experience. Besides helping plan the event and watching out for unforseen problems I've still got the speech to write and practice before the meeting (which is on Tuesday, at Metro Hall). In addition, we're ramping up with TIGC, trying to finally lock down our location for 2007 and hopefully 2008. And then there's still planning to do for Anime North!
I still have to put out the call for submissions for the conference, as well as write out our showcase information document – a job made all the more difficult by the fact that I don't know how much space we'll have for it, if any! With any luck, though, we should have our facilities secured by this time next week. After that, my TIGC work becomes much easier – evaluate presentation submissions and again handle anything unforseen.
For Anime North, I'm going to be running a few games as well as supervise the tabletop/card game area. I'm planning to run a Gundam/Battletech tournement, and I'm also going to be running an Anime-opoly game. Of all the tasks that I have before me, these are probably the easiest and least stressful to deal with; however I don't plan to be on staff for AN next year despite the ease of work. As staff I just don't get as much enjoyment out of the con as I do from being a simple attendee (although the perqs of being on staff are still pretty nice). I'll probably still be on staff next year, though, roped in by one thing or another...
