It's tough making games...
Via David "LetsKillDave" Weller, an article by programmer and former GDMag columnist Jon Blow about the increasing complexity of engineering computer games.
It's a well written article, and although it dates back to 2004 (it was originally published in ACM Queue vol. 1 iss. 10 [Feb 2004]) it's not at all outdated. Probably won't be, either, since it's pretty much an axiom that something's complexity increases with age.

It also turns out that entire issue was dedicated to game development. I don't know about the expiry dates on the remaining articles, but they might still be worth checking out.
SIIICK!
I see you're using reCAPTCHA!!!!! Yeah.... A bunch of us have been working hard on the new Captcha API. It seems to be working well now though ;-) ..... Still a bunch of work it needs though.
Re: SIIICK!
Yeah, well, I decided to stick with point releases rather than use straight from CVS. By the way, you could have at least told me that you were going to update Captcha and delete Textimage! Oh yeah, and I moved a bunch more modules over to my own modules/ directory, since they required upgrading.
By the way, you have an account, why didn't you log in before commenting?
