I can't say the same for other CMP magazines, but for the two I already mentioned, I was able to get confirmation from within the company that they are no longer on newsstands, anywhere. What gives? I'm not just surprised that the magazines have been made subscription only, but that there was no notice of it, anywhere that I had seen.

It's a shame. Especially with Dr. Dobb's Journal, which has great content but not always applicable to my interests – my only options are to give up reading it or get a subscription, neither of which are palatable. At least with Game Developer I have a subscription (a paid one, not the free one I had until they stopped those for Canadians), but what about attracting new eyes to the magazines?

I hope that the people behind the foolish decision to go off the stands realize their mistake and revert to having these fine magazines sold again at retail. I really do.
