Finally, I have a new computer!
It's been a year, but I finally have a decent, modern computer once again. I've had it since Tuesday afternoon, actually, but I'm still setting it up, installing various programs, and generally getting ready to put it to actual work.
I still haven't access to my old projects, unfortunately, as the new computer is a laptop and therefore incapable of taking one of my big ole HDDs. I figure if I can rustle up a USB enclosure, though, it won't be a problem any more!
Some specs: It's a Dell XPS M170 (so about two years old) running Windows Vista Ultimate. It's got a nice, loud audio system, but the graphics are hated NVidia (I'd much rather have an ATI/AMD chip inside; still, it's better than Intel integrated graphics). There's 2GB of RAM, and 93GB of hard drive space (of which almost half is already claimed by installed software). And the key caps for B and ~ are missing. I can still use the keys, but B requires a bit of work, it's kind of worn out on top of being naked.
All the same, I'm pretty damn happy to have this system. I can finally get some real development work done again!
