How to recover my data?

So, I got a USB hard drive enclosure today, for the 120GB hard drive late of my dead computer. The old Pentium 2 I have running Linux doesn't seem to support ATA-100 drives (which the 120GB is), and so this enclosure has been the first real chance to make use of the contents of the drive in a long time.

The problem is, the drive has several different partitions on it, and when hooked up to the laptop none of them are detected. So I find myself still locked out from my files (which include the source repositories for the majority of my projects), and based on what little I could glean from Google, might suffer data loss for some reason.

One step forward, two steps back.

Is there any way to make use of the drive as is via the enclosure? Or do I need to hunt down someone with a computer that will play nice with the drive inside, so I can at least recover what I need most and then reformat the drive?
