Pro Photo Tools 2!
I don’t know how I missed this, but a couple weeks ago, Microsoft released the second major version of their Pro Photo Tools software, which is what I use for geotagging my pictures.
That crappy Facebook redesign is just killing... Apps, that is
Anthony Ha over at VentureBeat demonstrated the pain app developers on Facebook are facing thanks to the much maligned redesign.
Security implications for gallery support in Drupal Publisher
Coming up for SPU, Drupal Publisher, and the Imgblog module is support for galleries, as implemented by the Image Gallery module. This will make use of the blogid parameter in spu.newImage (it’s not just there to look pretty in the specs).
If your game isn't fun, you have a bug
Last night at the Toronto IGDA meeting, I got in a bit of a chat with a few other guys about playtesting to determine how fun a game is. I was bringing up a lot of usability testing examples involving Microsoft’s Usability Labs, and their methods of gauging user reaction to products. (While never having been there, I have read about how they do things, and it’s very sensible.)
New SPU, new Imgblog release
I’ve just put up both the next version of SPU, as well as a new development release of the Imgblog module for Drupal.
Drupal Publisher, now with gallery support!
Drupal Publisher for Live Photo Gallery has just been updated to provide support for image galleries, as per the update to SPU and Imgblog. It’s still pretty raw, but Drupal Publisher keeps getting more and more usable as time goes on.
Drupal's poor design
While I’ll no doubt get lots of flames from Rob about this, I’m not afraid of saying that Drupal sucks as it is right now. That’s not to say it’s not getting better (for sure, it is) but a lot of problems that I and others have with Drupal stem from some poor basic design choices, which would require a stupendous amount of work to fix. Hiveminds Magazine covers a few reasons for why Drupal isn’t as good as it could be.
Putting together a display table for your Toastmasters club: A great way to provide information and keep members updated!
Shortly after the last time I blogged about the display table at Toronto Go-Getters, it changed again, but only slightly. So I’m taking this opportunity to present for the third time our display table, and tell you how to arrange one for your Toastmasters club.
Token blog post
It’s been far too long since I wrote and posted a blog entry. Really, I should achieve at least three or four posts per week. Well, to hold you faithful readers over until I have a real post worth publishing, here’s a token blog post. Enjoy it, and don’t read it all at once. (If you did read it all at once anyway, just re-read it a few times.)
Canadians: Get out and vote!
Today, 14 October 2008, is the date of the federal election to determine who gets to sit in the 40th Canadian Parliament, as well as determine whether or not the Dark Lords of the Sith Conservative Party continue to hold the power of government.
