Figure out who you should follow with Tweepler

Despite all the people who claim it's best to automatically follow everyone who follows you on Twitter, there's still a lot of people, myself included, who find its better to vet each follower and decide whether to follow them or not. Of course, it's not always easy to determine if a follower has been checked out or not. That is, until recently, when a new service, Tweepler, was launched.

Tweepler helps you choose whether or not you should follow someone who follows you on Twitter, but more than that, it remembers whether you've already vetted someone so you don't have to. It lets you sort out your followers into two "buckets": follow, and ignore. People you put into the follow bucket are automatically followed, and people you put into ignore are left as-is.

For each person who follows you, you can check out their latest tweets as you go through your followers list. Their Twitter bio, and links to their Twitter page and website are also provided, in case you need more details to help you choose whether or not to return their follow.

The service is still in beta, and there are a few signs of it (such as logging in knowing you have new followers, yet seeing no sign of them in Tweepler). As well, the service is missing a few things that would make it even better, such as a spam bucket for automatically reporting and blocking spam accounts, and a "needs more analysis" bucket for people you want to take a closer look at before sorting out. But if you're like me, and would rather know who you're following rather than automatically follow everyone and know nothing about them, you have to use Tweepler.
