Well, it's now 2009. With another year just begun, it's time for me to start looking at what I want to accomplish this year. Hopefully I'll do a much better job of things in '09 than I did in '08.

That is, to make ends meet and get money for upgrading, I'll be taking up blue collar work for a while.

Why is it harder to get an IT related job in Canada than it is in the USA? From what I've gathered, skilled programmers and other IT types can get a decent job even out of high school. Meanwhile, here it's difficult even if one has a college diploma or Bachelor's degree. So someone in my situation is pretty much screwed. But why is this so?
